We work very closely with Francesco Academy, which you would attend two days a week. Francesco Academy has two locations, one in Birmingham and one in Stafford. This collaboration allows our apprentices to benefit from the expertise and resources of Francesco Academy, enhancing their learning experience and expanding their knowledge within the industry.

Apprentice Role
You are employed in a full-time position within the salon which provides you with an excellent opportunity to start work as an apprentice hairdresser and to earn as you learn. You will work between 30-40 hours per week. A typical working week will be five days including Saturday.
The majority of your training and assessments will take place at your salon in dedicated training sessions with the Salon Based Trainer. You will also be required to attend our state-of-the-art Academies in either Stafford, Birmingham, or Poole once a week.
During your employment, you will also be working and studying towards a Professional Qualification which will be awarded by City and Guilds or VTCT and is a nationally recognised qualification.

What is an Apprenticeship?
«On an Apprenticeship you would be employed full-time, (between 30 and 40 hours per week) in a Salon that we work in partnership with. This means you will work alongside dedicated experienced staff, gain job specific skills, earn a wage, and get holiday pay and get time to study (equivalent to a minimum of 6 hours per week), which includes theory and practical training at one of our Francesco Group Training Academies.
How Long Does It Take to Complete a Hairdressing Apprenticeship?
«The Hair Professional Apprenticeship takes approximately 18 months to complete, and you will be required to undertake a Practical End Point Assessment to complete your qualification. The majority of our apprenticeships begin in either July or September. The Advanced & Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship takes approximately 14 months to complete and begins in March / April each year.
What does a Hairdressing Apprentice Earn?
«As an Apprentice, you will earn the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices, which from April 2024 will be £6.40. You will be paid for training days as well as the days working in the salon.
Where will I train on my Apprenticeship?
«The majority of your training and assessments will take place at your salon in dedicated training sessions with the Salon Based Trainer. You will also be required to attend our state-of-the-art Academies in either Stafford, Birmingham, or Poole once a week. Our Academies reflect the most up to date salons and have lecture rooms with interactive presentation equipment and training resources to support you. We have laptops and internet access for independent learning and 1-1 support sessions to help you every step of the way. You will also have progress reviews every ten weeks carried out at your salon, with your Employer and a representative from the Academy.
What Qualification do I get on a Hairdressing Apprenticeship?
«Your Hair Professional Qualification will be awarded by City and Guilds or VTCT and is a nationally recognised qualification. You will receive the following during your Apprenticeship:
• Hair Professional Qualification
• Functional Skills in Math’s, English, and IT Skills at Level 1 or 2 (as required)
• Francesco Group Business Enterprise Project.
Once you have achieved your Hair Professional Apprenticeship you can progress on to the Advanced & Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are an alternative to A- Levels or going to University.
How Many Hours a Week does an Apprentice Work?
«As an Apprentice you will be employed by a reputable salon for between 30-40 hours per week.
Do Apprentices get Holiday Pay?
«You will be entitled to at least 20 days paid holiday a year, plus 8 Bank Holidays.

«No formal entry requirements are necessary; we are looking for passionate and creative individuals who have an aspiration to be the best hairdresser they can be! Work experience within a salon environment is desirable, but not essential.
